Privacy notice
data.here has no accounts, no ads and no analytics, and sets no cookies. To show you a page, a few technical details still have to reach a server. This notice explains which ones.
Who is responsible

Hosting
This site is hosted on Microsoft Azure Static Web Apps. When you open a page, Microsoft's servers process technical connection data: your IP address, the date and time, the address you requested and your browser's details. Without this the page cannot be delivered. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in delivering this site and keeping it secure.
Our site is set up in Microsoft's West Europe region. Microsoft is part of a U.S. group, so data may also be processed outside the EU. Microsoft Corporation is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission has found to provide adequate protection (Art. 45 GDPR).
Dashboards
Dashboards are embedded from Dot, our own product. On a dashboard page your browser loads the dashboard from eu.getdot.ai and eu.dotusercontent.com, servers we run at Hetzner Online GmbH, a hosting provider in Germany. They process the same kind of connection data as above, plus the filters you choose, because those decide which numbers to show. The legal basis is again Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
The embedded dashboards set no cookies and store nothing in your browser. Dashboard pages show public data only. You don't sign in and we don't ask who you are.
One dashboard, What a gallon costs, also loads a chart library from cdn.jsdelivr.net, a public content delivery network run by Volentio JSD Limited, a company registered in England and Wales. That network receives the same kind of connection data. Its servers are located worldwide, so this data may also be processed outside the EU. The legal basis is again Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. See the jsDelivr privacy policy. The other dashboards load nothing from other companies.
Fonts
Fonts are served from this site. Your browser does not contact any outside font service.
Links to other sites
The "Try Dot" and "Built with Dot" links, and the link to Dot on the About page, carry a tag that shows the visit came from data.here. The "Powered by Dot" link inside a dashboard carries no tag. The Dot privacy policy applies once you are on getdot.ai. Links to data sources lead to the sites of those organizations, which have their own privacy rules.
If you write to us, we use your address and message to reply. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your message is about a contract.
How long we keep data
We keep connection data only as long as we need it to deliver the site and keep it secure. We keep emails as long as needed to deal with your request, and longer only where the law requires it.
Your rights
You can ask us for access to your personal data, and to correct, delete or restrict it. You can ask for a copy to take elsewhere, and you can object to processing based on our legitimate interest. Write to hi@getdot.ai.
You can also complain to a data protection authority. Ours is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg (Der Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg).
